A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to non-existent email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a mistake. The negative aspect of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of spam email messages, but this problem can be rectified by using anti-spam protection software. It is also important to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound messages to a third-party address.

If you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a cloud hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section includes quite a lot of functions, but it is remarkably simple to use, so configuring a catch-all mailbox takes just one mouse click. All the email addresses that you’ve set up will be listed in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll only have to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the given address. Our system will notify you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or choose another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as simple and requires yet another click on the exact same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The custom-developed Hepsia Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server plan that we’re offering will allow you to create a catch-all mailbox without any effort even in case you do not have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to accomplish that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each email address that you have created with your domains in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will notify you if you’ve already configured another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding activated. In case you decide that you don’t want the feature any longer, you can disable it by clicking again on the very same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
